Beauty Trend: Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
Recently my home country get buzzed with the beauty trend of Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. We got varied brands, mostly of course from South Korea namely Nature Republic, Holika Holika, Etude House, The Face Shop, Innisfree and Beauty Chuck. I still recall the time Nature Republic opened up their branch here, hundreds of people were lining up and rumor has it that the most sold out item was their infamous Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel. But even before that, I remember my older sister who got back from her trip to Korea told me that Aloe Vera Soothing Gel was very popular among Korean, she brought me one to try on (she gave me the Beauty Chuck’s).
So what is this Aloe Vera Soothing Gel?
Basically it’s gel for everything. Here are some of its uses:
- As moisturizing cream or mask pack
- Mix with make up base to moisturize your skin
- After shave cream
- As hair treatment
- To relax swollen eyes (use cotton pads for this one)
- As nail essence
- As body lotion for soft and moist skin
- As mask pack for sun burn (leave about 15 minutes)
First thing that i notice about this gel is, how light it is. And once you apply it to your skin, you’ll feel refreshed instantly. Many cream, gel and even mask felt sticky and it worried me, but Aloe Vera Soothing Gel felt almost like water. Okay, this gel get my full attention now.
Moving forward to the result. Like i said before, it gives instant refreshment and that’s a plus. And after using them for a while for my face, lips, nails and hair; my skin and lips become softer and i rarely get swollen eyes now. As for nails, i am satisfied to see that my nails grow stronger knowing that i only use this product for my nails treatment. I still feel no difference with my hair tho.
So yeah.. i love this product by far..
Which brand should i choose?
Personally, i think there are no huge differences among those brands’ Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. What may differ is how “pure” their Aloe Vera are, for example, Beauty Chuck offer 100% Aloe Vera, Holika Holika’s 99%, Etude House’s 99%, The Face Shop’s 99%, Innisfree’s 93%, while Nature Republic’s are 92%. From what i know, all of them are organic and the gel are relatively light except for Holika Holika which a little thicker than the rest. So if you are asking me, which brand should you use, i’d say go with your regular brand! But for those, who doesn’t have regular brand, i’d go with Nature Republic. Why? simply because they are more popular in this area, relatively cheap, and you can get them easily both offline and online.
